PHIL-334 - World Religions3 credits An introduction to the major world religions emphasizing cultural origins, spirituality, beliefs, traditions, texts, historical development, social structure and role in world politics. Religions considered include: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Baha’i, Confucianism, Zoroastrianism, Taoism, Native American, African, and other world traditions as determined by interests of participants. Participants should be prepared to distinguish between the critical examination of religion and the personal study of one’s religion as an adherent.
Prerequisite(s): ENGL-100
Mass Transfer Block: Credits earned in this course are counted towards the MassTransfer Block Humanities and Fine Arts requirements.
