MECH-280 - Solid Modeling for Mechanical Design I4 credits This course is a continuation of Engineering Graphics with SolidWorks. The emphasis of the course is to present the concepts of mechanical design principles using the CAD system. Both ASME inch and metric applications will be used. Students are required to analyze design concepts and comment on their feasibility. Special attention is given to tolerancing of mating parts including standard ANSI fits. Proper engineering documentation is emphasized including the application of geometric tolerances per the most current standards of ASME Y14.5M.
Prerequisite(s): MECH-160 ;
Corequisite(s): MECH-280L
