BIOL-121 - Microbiology4 credits A basic study of microorganisms, their structure, growth processes, and control. The concepts of infection, immunity and hypersensitivity precede the survey of the microbiology of major infectious diseases. The course meets for three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week.
Prerequisite(s): Either BIOL-102 - Principles of Biology 1 and CHEM-101 - Survey of Chemistry 1 or recent high school biology and chemistry are recommended.
Corequisite(s): BIOL-121L
Mass Transfer Block: Credits earned in this course are counted towards the MassTransfer Block Natural or Physical Science requirements.
