Massage Therapy is a personal service used to promote health and wellness benefits to consumers. The major benefits of receiving massage therapy are stress reduction, and the prevention of stress-related disease, pain relief for management of orthopedic conditions, injury recovery, and enhancing the management of chronic disease. The Massage Therapy program, stresses learning in the art and science of massage therapy. Students gain knowledge of anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, and pathology as they relate to therapeutic massage. Graduates become proficient in Relaxation Massage, Rehabilitative Massage, Seated Massage, and other modalities. Students gain practical experience in assessment, treatment planning and record keeping working our public clinic. The program prepares students for licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and for National Certification. Graduates work in private practice, spas, medical and chiropractic offices, with athletes and in geriatric care settings.
