The Digital Media Certificate in Multimedia Technology is designed for individuals with prior experience or course work in communication; media or broadcast who would like to either pursue retraining or combine, update and enhance their skills in Multimedia.

The Certificate will allow students to plan a course of study suited to their particular interests or needs related to the Digital Media environment. The department offers state-of-the-art facilities and current software applications to prepare individuals for 21st Century jobs in the Multimedia field. The curriculum is laid out in menu style with several kinds of courses offered each semester. The student is required to take at least 12 credits in the Digital Media Production Department. The other 12-17 credits would be selected from the list below. Other courses not appearing on the list would be accepted with permission from the student’s advisor and Department Chair.

The student will need to complete a minimum of 24 credits to earn the Certificate of Completion, but they could take up to 29 credits if they so choose.

 

Computer and Software Requirements


Due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic the Digital Media Production Department is requiring all incoming students, catalog year 20-21, purchase one of the following Apple iPads:

 

Highly Recommended:

2020 iPad Pro, 12.9 inch, 128GB with Wi-Fi: $899

Recommended:

2020 iPad Pro, 11 inch, 128GB with Wi-Fi: $749

Minimum (Please note a student may receive a supplemental assignment in some courses due to limitations of this model)

2020 iPad Air, 64 GB with WiFi, 64GB: $479 recommended upgrading space to 256 GB: $629
