INVT-150 - Exploring Innovation for the 21st Century3 credits This course provides direct theoretical and practical expertise in innovation and design. It will utilize the E-Team concept to promote, enhance and support innovation through the use of guest speakers, field studies, design, prototyping, professional advice and group dynamics. E-Teams will be comprised of students from a variety of disciplines. Student design projects, centered on real-life existing products and designs, will be used to address the relationship between Art and Engineering. Emphasis is give to the students’ creativity and ingenuity culminating in a marketable innovation. Areas of special interest are: safety, adaptive (universal) design, comprehensive application, flexibility and environmental impact. Visits to various area businesses may also be a part of this course.
Prerequisite(s): DWT-099 (minimum grade of C-) or placement at college-level English and placement at ALGB-097 .
