This course is a continuation of Dental Assisting Techniques I, designed to further develop students’ clinical skills, critical thinking, and proficiency in chairside dental assisting. Students will expand their knowledge of dental specialties, including periodontics, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, while learning the specialized instruments, materials, and procedures associated with each discipline. The course also prepares students for entry into the dental profession by developing professional communication skills, including the creation of a résumé and cover letter, and exploring career opportunities within a variety of dental practice settings.
