ABT-215 - Building Science2 credits This course explores the scientific principles that influence building performance, comfort, and energy efficiency. Students examine how heat, air, and moisture move through building materials and assemblies, analyze the causes of building failures, and study strategies for improving durability and sustainability. Emphasis is placed on integrating building-science understanding into design and construction practices using digital tools and simulation software. Projects and labs align with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows, helping students connect technical performance with sustainable construction detailing.
Prerequisite(s): ABT-135, completed before or taken concurrently
