HIT-206 - Preparation for the CCA Exam1 credits This course will prepare the Medical Coding and Billing Specialist (MCBS) student to take the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification exam administered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). CCA certification demonstrates a professional’s foundational competence and commitment to excellence in medical coding and billing. Employers value the CCA credential because it signifies that the individual has a solid understanding of coding principles, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding systems, and is well-versed in health information management (HIM) regulations. Prerequisite(s): Take and complete HIT-130 and HIT-125 as a pre-requiste. Complete HIT-260 and HIT-265 , either before or concurrently.
