DAS-201 - Dental Sciences 23 credits This course is designed to familiarize the student with the various tissue changes that may occur in the patient’s oral cavity as a result of pathological and/or systemic conditions. Also included is a study of medical emergencies and their respective first-aid treatment procedures. Specific types of pharmacological agents that are utilized in the dental office in order to alleviate pain and fear or enhance anesthesia as well as those agents which are prescribed to the patient to control systemic diseases will be discussed. The student is required to pass CPR for Healthcare Providers with AHA BLS and Heart Saver First Aid.
