NUR-101 - Nursing 18 credits NUR-101 is an introduction to basic nursing knowledge, concepts and skills. This course introduces the nursing curriculum competencies. This course incorporates evidence-based practice and scientific and psychological principles. Nursing process is introduced, and applied to the individual, who is presented as a multidimensional being, across the life span. Primary interventions are introduced to promote wellness and prevent illness. The student is introduced to the concept of critical thinking, and lifelong learning. During this course, the student learns basic skills in the learning resource center, simulation center, and in long term care and sub-acute environments.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Department of Nursing.
Corequisite(s): BIO-231 , ENG-101 , PSY-101 , NUR 124
