ENG-107 - Introduction to Creative Writing3 credits The emphasis of this course will be on the creation of artistic works, which may include fiction, non-fiction, memoir, and poetry. Students will learn various aspects of characterization, plot development, dialogue, point of view, use of literary devices, and other basic elements that comprise written creative expression. Preparation of a portfolio is required of each student. Final projects will include a class reading of finished pieces and potential publication in the STCC literary magazine.
Prerequisite(s): ENG-101 (minimum grade of C-)
Mass Transfer Gen Ed Foundation: Credits earned in this course are counted towards the Mass Transfer Gen Ed Foundation’s Humanities and Fine Arts requirements.
