MET-159 - Solid Works for Sheet Metal Applications2 credits This course begins by instructing the student in the feature-based, parametric solid modeling system called Solid Works. The course begins with an overview of the Solid Works sketching environment where students learn to create 2D objects such as lines and arcs. Definition is then added to the sketch including numerical dimensions and geometric relationships. Special emphasis will be placed on sheet metal design and fabrication including flat pattern development in preparation for laser sheet metal cutting.
