SOC-102 - Introduction to Social Work3 credits This course will familiarize students with the various roles, functions, and tasks which social workers perform in a variety of settings and acquaint them with the primary skills and practices of generalist social work. Students will be introduced to social work practice as a multi-level and multi-method approach to influencing change in program situations. Students will also be introduced to the core values and Code of Ethics of social work and be exposed to issues of diversity, oppression, and social justice.
Mass Transfer Block: Credits earned in this course are counted towards the MassTransfer Block Behavioral and Social Sciences requirements.
