SMC-175 - Community Health Worker: Theory and Methods4 credits This course will explore teaching, facilitation, advocacy and community organizing skills required of a community health worker. Students will learn theory and methods for implementing best practices in community health work with individuals and with groups. Students will be required to complete a field experience to practice the skills learned in class through lecture, role play and patient simulation.
A $200 Health fee will be charged to students who enroll in this course (this fee is in addition to the per-credit tuition and fees).
