MET-180 - Mechanical CAD: 2D Fundamentals4 credits The purpose of this course is to instruct the student with the terminology, capabilities, and operation of computer-aided drafting software using a typical CAD system. The student will be given graphic laboratory problems to create two-dimensional work files. Coverage includes topics such as geometric creation, editing geometry drawing formats utilizing paper space and model space, and the requirements for creating orthographic views for item description. Emphasis is placed on the multiview system or a drawing including orthographic views, auxiliary views, sectional views, and detail views. In addition dimensioning, and line and lettering practices are covered to enable the student to produce professional quality drawings. Three lecture hours and three lab hours per week
