Early Childhood Education - CDA.COC

The ECE Certificate of Completion meets the educational requirements for both Teacher and Lead Teacher Certification with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).  

This program offers new educators and educators already working with children (ages birth to 8 years old) the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the early childhood education field. The Certificate degree consists of five courses (16 credits) and can be completed in less than one year. All courses, except for the practicum, are available fully online in an asynchronous format. Students will complete a 150-hour practicum, including supervision from a college representative and a weekly seminar class. All credits earned in the Certificate can be applied to the Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. 

All accepted students must complete a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check. The results could impact the student’s ability to continue in the program.

Upon the successful completion of the requirements for this program, a Certificate of Completion in Early Childhood Education from STCC will be awarded.
