Early Childhood Education - CHLD.AS

This course of study prepares students to become competent Early Education and Care professionals. Graduates of this program will be qualified to work in infant/toddler centers, family day care centers, and preschool centers. Additional options include a variety of child care settings. The curriculum is designed to meet the standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Early Childhood Education courses will provide students with a strong foundation in child development and exposure to the many facets of early education. Hands-on work in the field is a requirement of several courses and the program culminates with a two semester practicum experience where theory will meet practical application.

Visit http://www.mass.edu/osfa/programs/earlychildhooded.asp for more information on the Early Childhood Educators Scholarship.

Minimum Grade Requirement: Students must achieve a “C” as the minimum passing grade in all ‘ECE’ courses.

Upon the successful completion of requirements of this program, the degree of Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education will be awarded.
