CHEM-420 - Organic Chemistry 24 credits A continuation of CHEM-320 . Emphasis is on basic reactions and their mechanisms, nomenclature and spectral identification through NMR and IR spectroscopy. Laboratory work involves organic synthesis by microscale and macroscale techniques. Three one-hour lectures and one three-hour lab per week.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM-320 ;
Corequisite(s): CHEM-420L
Mass Transfer Block: Credits earned in this course are counted towards the MassTransfer Block Natural or Physical Science requirements.
